  • Jen has built a career helping legacy industries update their products, revenue and business models based on the promise and benefit of technology. She is now on a mission to cool the planet.

Before kicking off her own climate journey, Jen has primarily focused on unearthing and cultivating new-to-the-world strategic partnerships and operational teams that transform businesses and unlock new markets. Across her career, she led teams that brought 10 new-to-the-world products to market for various sized companies as the 9th, 18th, 300th, and the 500th hire (as well as the 50,000th and 200,000th hire). She is a seasoned leader who is equipped to navigate the uncharted while drawing the map for others to follow, no matter the stage of the company.

At Root, a full stack auto insurance carrier operating in a heavily regulated market, Jen shepherded a growth strategy from hypothesis to multi-state operations, building a new business unit and B2B2C acquisition channel that grew Root’s addressable market. Within the first year of operating an in-market pilot, Jen pulled together business, regulatory, operational, partner, and product requirements to scope and ship a new API and subscription product in multiple markets.

Jen led cross-functional teams that shipped four Virtual Reality products–2 hardware and 2 software–wooing mass market consumers and seeding the non-gaming content creation ecosystem as part of Oculus. She also constructed and executed content production and licensing deals for a new social virtual reality product, Oculus Venues (now Horizon Venues). Prior to Oculus, Jen spent time at Twitter where she built the product partnerships that enabled the launches of GIF search and Twitter Live Video.

During her time at Disney, Jen led the redesign of a global product that solved the “empty room” and user acquisition problems for partner platforms–Google Play, Amazon Video, Vudu, and iTunes–all while maintaining Disney’s legacy revenue streams. She built the business case and managed its global launch from partner and stakeholder management to business development–in the US, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand. The new product doubled US conversions.

Beyond bringing new products to market, Jen also has experience developing new markets for enterprise Saas software (Meltwater), enterprise hardware (Matterport), and financial services (Monness, Crespi, and Hardt).

Jen has a Bachelors of Arts from Stanford University, studied at École Supérieure de Commerce à Paris, received her Master of Business Administration at UCLA, and learned climate science and solutions as a Terra.Do Learning for Action Fellow.

As a practicing feminist, Jen co-founded the Womens’ employee resource groups at both Disney and Root and evolved her team’s recruiting process to support diverse candidates from first contact through offer.

Jen has two kids who are her inspiration for her pivot into climate. She wants them to have a life of adventure, joy, and success that is limited only by their imagination–not the viability of their planet. She is a first-time homeowner often outside nurturing her you-can-eat-your-way-around-it yards or juggling projects that decarbonize her home. She is a retired professional dancer (Los Angeles and New York City). Jen lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her family.
